Sustainable product design
To enable a planet that remains inhabitable for generations to come we should all strive for sustainable or circular product design. Which is the creation of products that can be reused as long as possible. Unfortunately, that is not always possible. But there are multiple routes towards sustainable product design and development. It can be as simple as making sure something lasts a long time through enabling easy maintenance and serviceably. And once a product does reach their end-of-life; design for recycling methods ensure that dismantling and separation of mono-streams is possible. Life Cycle Analysis is a method to identify the environmental impact of products during their life cycle. An LCA includes the mining of raw materials, manufacturing, logistics, usage and the recycling/disposal of the product. A Life Cycle Analysis. is a vital tool in projects where sustainable product design is paramount. Important choices such as use of materials, production techniques and the manufacturing location depend on it. LCA data enables us to optimize your product design in such a way that their ecological footprint is substantially reduced.
Material usage in sustainable product development

Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG)
By far the biggest gains in sustainable and circular product design are to be made in Fast Moving Consumer Goods, meaning food, toiletries and detergents. Sustainable and circular packaging can annually save millions of tons of waste worldwide. Waste that is now largely burnt in Europe and ends up on landfills or in the sea in less developed countries.
