User experience development
Broken wheels that can’t be replaced are a main reason for discarded suitcases. Within the warranty period this is also the main cause for brands like Princess Traveler to issue replacements. This challenge was the starting point of the Suit My Case project. In our hands the project resulted in a concept for consumers to customize their own suitcase online. Not only a solution for broken wheels, but a wholly unique experience.

Sustainable product design
After we came up with the idea of a customizable trolley, we started sketching what it could look like. The idea was to create a product that consumers can assemble themselves without the use of tools. With permanently fixed parts it is easier to make a suitcase stable and robust. It was therefore challenging to develop easy to replace components.
Several ideas were developed into prototypes and flown around the world for thorough testing by Princess Traveler and our team members. Improvements from these real-life tests enabled perfecting the product design to a sturdy suitcase which is easy to assemble by consumers. All replaceable parts remain available through the platform, enabling repairs by consumers themselves in something breaks or wears out.

Customizable product
Suit My Case was launched in six colors, which can be mixed and matched as desired. A unique combination of colors, make the suitcases easy to be spotted on baggage claims. Creating your own model can be done in an online configurator. ManGo developed the unboxing experience as well, which takes users through the assembly process step by step.
