Lifemaxx dumbbell tower
The Lifemaxx dumbbell tower is a particularly interesting case due to the reshoring of its production. Nearly all fitness equipment including dumbbell towers are manufactured in China; only reason being costs as the welding is labor intensive. For Lifemaxx this meant paying for inventory months in advance, expensive long sea transport, import tariffs, customs control and having to deal with quality issues at far away factories.
When ManGo was requested to develop the new Lifemaxx dumbbell tower and knowing the issues of our client. We set out to create a design proposal that could be manufactured locally.
SMART PRODUCTION METHOD
To achieve this, we selected rotation molding as a manufacturing technique. Fitting for the production of large and almost indestructible components. The product design was tailor made for this production method and the Lifemaxx brand. Working together with a manufacturer from our network the production now takes place 50 kilometers away and costs less to produce.
ACCESSORIES DEVELOPMENT
The dumbbells were designed to have the same rough look fitting to the Lifemaxx brand. They are covered in a natural- and tough rubber to ensure a long lifespan. The flattened top and bottom ensure they won’t roll away and enable additional exercises.
