A major challenge with heat pump boilers is their bulky and unattractive appearance. They often end up in a corner of the utility room or garage, hidden behind a door. That had to change. We designed the Pomp T with the modern home in mind, making it not only functional but also an aesthetic upgrade. The design aligns seamlessly with the Pomp AO and exudes quality without compromising on compactness.
During the development of the Pomp T, we focused on a design that reinforces DeWarmte’s brand identity. We chose recognizable design elements such as wave patterns and high-quality materials that not only contribute to a premium look but also make the transition to gas-free heating more appealing. Instead of the classic white cylinder, the Pomp T is a stylish addition to any home, even when placed in plain sight.
Creating a product family with the Pomp AO was not a given. The AO has a square footprint, while the Pomp T needed to be cylindrical. Our team translated the AO’s signature fins into an aluminium ribbed plate, which could be produced in exactly the same colour. This ribbed plate is enclosed between two rotomolded parts for a clean finish. Additionally, the combination of thick-walled rotomolding and the ribbed plate contributes to significant noise reduction, a crucial factor for placement in residential environments.

Technology and ease of use are central to the design. The Pomp T works with the DeWarmte App and can operate fully automatically, yet it remains intuitive to use without a smartphone. For those who prefer to stay in control, the settings can be adjusted for maximum efficiency or added comfort. And thanks to its quiet operation, it is ideal for noise-sensitive homes.
The design process was a challenge: how do you create a boiler that looks like a premium product without compromising its core functionality? We experimented with various concepts and translated the Pomp AO’s signature fins into an elegant ribbed plate. The result? A robust yet refined design that is balanced both technically and visually. Within eight months, the Pomp T went from initial sketch to production, and DeWarmte was so enthusiastic that we immediately started working on the larger 300-liter version.
