Supersola set out to make solar energy accessible to everyone. With support from ManGo Product Design, the Dutch start up developed a plug and play solar panel that eliminates the need for professional installation or permanent changes to the home. The redesigned Supersola is compact, affordable, and easy to use. It can be set up in minutes by placing it on a flat surface, filling the ballast tanks with water, and plugging it into a power socket. The result is renewable energy without complexity, helping more people participate in the energy transition.
From Idea to Efficient Innovation
ManGo re engineered the Supersola system to reduce size, simplify assembly, and lower production costs. Using advanced analysis tools such as FEM and CFD simulations, the team optimized the structure for strength and durability across a wide range of temperatures. Off tool prototypes were tested in climate chambers to verify performance and refine materials. Ergonomics were improved by dividing the large ballast tank into four smaller units with handles, making the setup process easy for users. Each decision balanced functionality, cost, and usability to create a smarter product that fits everyday life.

The new Supersola design integrates custom extrusion profiles, blow molded tanks, and injection molded components, significantly reducing weight and cost. Its modular construction allows users to expand their setup by connecting additional panels when needed. The innovative plug and play concept makes solar power as simple as plugging in a household appliance.
