Initiation and design strategy
ManGo prioritizes research as the foundation for innovative product design. For each project, we evaluate critical challenges, such as regulatory requirements, competitor patents, and budget constraints. When not predefined by the client, we also help clarify product or service positioning.
Our process includes user and market research, competitor analysis, mood boards, and trend exploration. A key method in this early stage is conducting workshops with focus groups, applying User-Centered Design principles. These sessions are flexible and can be organized at the client’s site, ManGo’s offices, or any location best suited to the product development context.

Concept development
A strong product design balances manufacturability, usability, aesthetics, and sustainability. Once research findings are approved and compiled into a program of demands, the process moves into brainstorm sessions with the design team.
Idea Generation: Creation of sketches exploring aesthetics, technical solutions, ergonomics, and clear semantics.
Concept Selection: Promising ideas are refined into multiple sketch concepts, which are then reviewed and evaluated with the client.
3D CAD Development: The chosen direction is translated into a detailed CAD concept, iteratively finetuned in close collaboration to ensure precision and alignment with project goals.

Engineering for Prototyping
Prototypes are central to transforming ideas into tangible innovations. They allow for hands-on testing to refine functionality and improve user experience.
Purpose: Validate concepts, identify improvements, and eliminate design flaws before manufacturing.
Collaboration: Both clients and intended users are encouraged to thoroughly test prototypes.
Outcome: Ensures the product design is user-friendly, reliable, and ready for smooth transition into manufacturing.

Design For Manufacturing
In this phase, designs are fully prepared for large-scale manufacturing.
CMF Definition: Final colors, materials, and finishes (CMF) are established, with their constraints shaping 3D CAD engineering.
Mechanical & Mechatronics Integration: If the product includes mechanisms, electronics, sensors, or actuators, these are engineered and supported by advanced tools like CFD and FEM analysis.
Production Documentation: Detailed 2D CAD drawings with tolerances are created, enabling manufacturers to quote for molds and production.
Certification Support: Products requiring approvals (e.g., CE, UL, FDA) are guided through certification processes with Notified Bodies.

Industrialization
Once product design and development are finalized, focus shifts to arranging production.
Manufacturing Partners: Work with the client’s chosen partner or leverage ManGo’s trusted manufacturer network.
Supplier Sourcing: Specific suppliers can be identified and audited when needed.
Mold Creation: Typically the first step, covering both low-volume series without tooling and mass production requiring complex molds.
Production Support: ManGo guides the mold-making process, sets up assembly procedures, and prepares quality control documentation to ensure consistent manufacturing outcomes.

Production
After design and development are complete, the product moves into production. ManGo can collaborate with your chosen production partner or connect you with its network of trusted manufacturers. If specific suppliers are needed, they can be sourced and audited.
The process usually begins with mold creation, whether for low-volume series without tooling or for mass production requiring complex molds. ManGo supports mold making, sets up assembly procedures, and prepares quality control documentation. This ensures production runs smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
