Reinventing the Urban Buggy
Together with Inglesina, ManGo worked on the design and concept development of a new premium lightweight buggy for modern urban settinga. The ambition was to create a compact, easy-to-use product that combines sleek aesthetics with efficient engineering while remaining feasible for production in Italy. To understand the market, our team visited the Inglesina factory, explored retail stores in different countries and attended international trade fairs, studying how parents interact with buggies and how current market leaders approach the category. In other words: plenty of folding, unfolding and comparing notes.
Clean Design for Everyday Use
ManGo Product Design developed the design strategy, concept exploration and final 3D concept design. The ambition was to create a sleek and minimal frame architecture while exploring new intuitive folding mechanisms that would make the buggy lightweight, easy to carry and quick to unfold. The design language aimed to balance technical precision with a friendly and modern appearance, fitting naturally into the lifestyle of urban parents and ideally making life a little easier when one hand is already busy by holding a coffee.









Engineering for Efficiency
Gas injection moulding was selected as the primary manufacturing technique, enabling lightweight yet rigid structural components with hollow internal sections. All hinges were engineered by our team to be fully integrated into the frame, reducing visible mechanics while lowering component count and assembly time. Additional functions such as the braking system and suspension were integrated directly into components like the wheels, resulting in a clean and streamlined architecture.


Fashion Meets Function
Beyond the product itself, ManGo also developed CMF directions for the brand. These explorations included premium materials, distinctive colour combinations and even co-branding with well-known fashion houses. The result is a buggy concept that combines elegant design, efficient engineering and modern lifestyle appeal; lightweight, intuitive to use and designed for large-scale production.
